One of America’s beloved LGBT television shows is honoring Pride Month with some of their greatest gay moments on the show. And we’re loving it!
Most of the footage in the mashup is from the original series of the hint comedic show. Will & Grace first aired on NBC in 1998 during a time when being openly gay was mildly tolerated at best throughout the U.S.
Still, the show found a place in the hearts of many both gay and straight thanks to the talented writers and the four amazing actors that brought each character (Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen) to life with so much personality and pizzaz. Can’t forget to mention Karen’s hilarious maid Rosario as the fifth comedic character.
Viewers just couldn’t stop laughing at the wacky antics that took place on each New York episode of the sitcom. Mixed in with the laughs were some real moments about the internal and societal struggles of being gay, which gave many viewers a real perspective of what it meant to be gay in America.
Sadly, the viewers had their last chuckle as the actors exited stage left when the Emmy award-winning show called it quits after eight hilarious seasons. But fortunately, the show and all four funny characters made a comeback with a highly anticipated brand new season in 2017.
Once again the wacky group (minus Rosario’s character) was back together making viewers laugh out loud yet again. The revamp show centered around the same plot and narrative with current events added into the mix to spice things up. In the first episode, President Trumps’ historical election was the main attraction, in which the dynamic four were able to make lighthearted and extremely funny.
As once before, the show also weaved in serious topics that our community deals with while still giving the audience some comic relief. In the last few episodes, gay conversion therapy was part of the show’s focus. The revamp was so popular that the NBC network expanded the episodes to sixteen in total with a renewal for a tenth and eleventh season!
