The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce recently certified 240sweet Artisan Foodworks of Columbus, Ind., as an LGBT Business Enterprise through its Supplier Diversity Initiative. The NGLCC is the nation’s exclusive certifying body for LGBT owned and operated businesses.
“America’s top corporations are eager to do business with the LGBT community,” said Justin G. Nelson, president and co-founder of the NGLCC.
With this official certification, the NGLCC, its organizational allies, and corporate partners now nationally recognize 240sweet Artisan Foodworks as a diverse supplier. The company joins the growing ranks of more than 800 certified LGBTBEs and is eligible to participate in the NGLCC’s corporate partners’ supplier diversity programs; can take advantage of the vast educational opportunities promoted by the NGLCC; and can work to foster business relationship with other LGBTBEs.
240sweet LLC is owned and operated by Chef Alexa Lemley and Samantha Aulick and has 15 employees who make fair and living wages. Among their accomplishments: Lemley and Aulick were inducted into Indiana Artisan in 2008; they were honored by magazines including “O” the Oprah magazine, “Edible Indy,” “Go Magazine”and “Indianapolis Monthly;” Lemley’s Popcorn and Lobster Soup was voted both Best Gluten Free and Most Creative Soup at the 2015 Indy Soup Fest; and she won grand champion in the Ultimate Macaroni and Cheese Cook-Off at the Indiana State Fair in 2015.
