A-list Hollywood funny girl Amy Schumer stars in a hilarious comedy that’s sure to give everyone watching an ab workout from all the laughter the movie elicits.
The Laugh-out-loud film takes place in the fashion craze bustling city of New York where one can get lost in all its beauty. Schumer plays that girl who is always striving to meet the beauty standard imposed on women and men by magazines, Hollywood and dating apps.
The movie starts with Schumer’s character, Renee, struggling through life with constant jabs to her confidence by bartenders, retail store clerks, and dating app stereotypes. Then her life takes a turn for the better due to a horrible yet funny exercising accident.
Not to give too much away, the film is a total play on the mantra, “It’s what’s on the inside that counts.” In the opening half of the movie, Renee rebukes the age-old motto saying, “I have a crazy idea, let’s be honest for a minute. No matter how many times we hear ‘it’s what’s on the inside that matters’ women no deep down it’s what’s on the outside that the whole world judges.”
During the second half of the movie after the life-changing climax, and (we mean it) totally hilarious exercising accident scene, the inner beauty mantra is put to the test. Whether the film always self-confidence to prevail over what we as a society are conditioned to think is physical beauty is for you to find out by watching the super funny movie.
What we can tell you than what we have shared already about the film is that supermodel and timeless beauty Naomi Campbell plays a role in the movie. And other than the movie billed as a comedy, the film really does dive into self-love and self-confidence.
