The gay gossip blogger Perez Hilton is no foe to controversy, but this comment sure does take the cake.
On Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, Hilton took to the camera to clarify a statement that he would rather his son be straight, which he made on his podcast the prior week. In his attempt to clarify what he meant by his statement Hilton explains that it is easier in this world to be heterosexual and that his ultimate goal as a parent is to protect his child.
“Ultimately, every decision I make for my son is what I think is best for his future,” said Hilton. “I don’t want to do anything that could potentially hurt him.”
Apparently, dance school is a potential harm to the controversial blogger’s son since as he states with no particular number that most male dancers are gay. However, that’s not to say that he wouldn’t put his son in dance school if he pegged him too.
“I don’t think that’s a homophobic thing to say,” Hilton explains. “Just like I don’t think it’s a homophobic thing to say that a disproportionate amount of male singer, actor, dancers on Broadway are gay. There are more gay men drawn to that profession. That’s not homophobic, that’s just a fact.”
“If he really wanted to take dance class, which he hasn’t expressed that, if he begged and pleaded and I saw that that would make him truly happy, I would do that.”
